The DewPointe™ can run on solar power or other energy source if the power system has an adapter to convert from DC to AC (the DewPointe™ runs on AC). Bear in mind that the unit is gravity-fed so that all the water inthe unit can be accessed in the event of a power failure.

Atmospheric water production is directly dependent on the temperature and humidity of the surrounding climate. When the combined temperature and humidity become too low to facilitate the atmospheric water extraction process, the DewPointe™'s water production levels may not meet daily consumption needs. The DewPointe™ was designed to work most efficiently when the average daily temperature is above 68º and the average daily humidity is greaterthan 40%. (Water will still be produced but at lower quantities)

The hourly consumption referenced here is only for the water making function (compressor), with the hot & cold components turned off. The cold water function increases the power consumption by .052 kWh and the hot water functionincreases the power consumption by .06 kWh.

· We did our own testing on the units and found that our electrical power consumption results were less than the factory ratings because the compressor is not always running. The compressor does not run continuously because the machine only generates water until the tank is full. Then the compressor shuts off. Therefore, the 'percentage On time' depends entirely on water consumption and the temperature/humidity ratio. The higher the temperature and humidity, the faster and more efficient the machine will produce water, and the lower the energy consumption.
